Giving advice to teenagers.
A short revision of giving advice language structures are presented with examples on board. Students in pairs are given three different situations where they should give advice to teenagers when they are threatened by someone offering them drugs or they face the possibility of being deceived by someone. Then they watch a drug prevention video about teenagers who had been lied about certain situations which led them to taking drugs. The activity which follows is to work in groups by discussing the reasons teenagers had been lied about and to complete the drug prevention tree diagram with slogans against drugs or writing pieces of advice. As a final activity class is divided in two groups (A & B) and each group is given a different drama scenario. Each group has to develop a script dramatising each girl’s situation. Students can write down the statements they will use for their scenario and they can use examples to make their points more dramatic. They have also to write a conclusion to each scenario. Then their perform their skits to the class.
